Henceforth follow Sai’s preachings and
grind and polish the fame of Mother Bharat
that has been established for ages upon earth.
Oh, the promoters of education, the educated and
the elite of the town!

Today is an important and sacred milestone in the history of Anantapur. This is also an auspicious day for those who are interested in the rejuvenation of Bharateeya Culture and its development. Our government is providing plans for the development of education and medical facilities, projects for increasing production of food grains; and ways and means of providing drinking water. By these, crores of people will be able to lead a happy life. More and more houses, educational institutions, hospitals, factories, business and trade organisations as also agricultural methods are finding a place in our plans and projects and are flourishing. No doubt, all these are desirable and achievable! But along with this, it is more important for us to prepare and implement projects and plans that are necessary for peace, safety and contentment of people. These are to be achieved within our own selves. A stable and contented nation will thus be formed which in turn will foster and display the powerful qualities of Indian Culture.

It is surprising that neither the rulers nor the people are trying to find out the root causes for the fear, anxiety, enmity, mistrust, and dissatisfaction that are prevalent. But it is only through the spiritual path that we will be able to find reasons for this deplorable condition and for their rectification. It is not possible through the external means of economic, political, social or educational fields. It is highly regrettable that today we have forgotten the spiritual education totally. The present education is only concerned about teaching that can only gather information and stuff the mind with it. I started the college with a view to impress people and powers that be upon its shortcomings. In addition to the intellectual sharpening, I wish to purify impulses and emotions, to provide physical and mental discipline and to shower soothing peace and joy upon the youth! They should be encouraged to foster their noble qualities. For this, it is highly desirable to teach them the relevance of education, its practice, prayer, good company, awareness about the famous biographies of spiritual leaders and pious women; and to show them the qualities of self-confidence, self-satisfaction, self-sacrifice, and self-knowledge.

Be Embodiments Of Motherhood

Oh Embodiments of Atma!

The barren land of heart has to be cultivated by tilling it with the implements of japa (recitation), dhyaana (meditation), and naamasmarana (repetition of His name). Sow the seeds of love, provide the manure of care and the fence of perseverance. Then, you get the harvest of patience. This patience gives you peace, removes anger and vengeance. Patience is a great wealth for the humans!

People should read well the Puranas that set the standards and the Shastras (spiritual texts) that serve as eyes in order to have proper understanding of Bharateeya Culture. The Puranas and the Shastras were evolved for the purpose of explaining the secrets contained in the Vedanta (the Upanishadic philosophy). Therefore they may be described as spiritual repositories.

The Puranas and the Shastras are waxing eloquence on the woman as the embodiment of motherhood. The Vedas have described women like Gargi and Maitreyi as spiritual heroines and scholarly gems. Long ago, at a conference of great scholars, Gargi had resolved highly intricate matters pertaining to spiritual pursuit and attained a highly covetous position.

In the history, we find the role of Jijiyabai who had filled the heart of her young son Shivaji with noble teachings based on the episodes of Puranas and Itihasas and fostered him into an ideal example of Hindu Culture.

For Hindus, the Hindu Dharma, that is intertwined with their Culture, is their life breath. The Hindu is prepared to undergo any kind of hardship or even face death in protecting and fostering this Dharma. The land on which he is living is Dharma. It is the life breath. The Bharateeya (the citizen of Bharat) will not like to live at a place where there is no practice of this Dharma. It is difficult even to breathe in an atmosphere that is rotting in Adharma (unrighteousness). In such circumstances, he will sustain his life in a manner that Sita had spent in the Ashokavanam, all along breathing the name of Rama.

The Bharateeyas will not feel their natural happiness anywhere except in an atmosphere that is filled with devotion and faith. God is involved in whatever they speak or whatever they do. All those involved in construction works like dams and factories or those working in places like universities will be able to enjoy fruition and feel happy only when they fill their hearts with qualities like care, compassion, humanism, devotion and mutual respect. Since times immemorial, the country of Bharat has been enjoying the status of ‘Guru’ to the entire humanity, only because of this adherence and practice. Once again, it will be able to reach this position.

The Ideal Institute

Members of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, who are totally endowed with qualities of Tyaga (sacrifice) and Yoga that are the essential aspects of the Bharateeyas, are running this college in the capacity of members and counsellors. They will enhance further the prestige of motherhood in the society. This institute is striving to develop symbols (role models) of potential mothers who will provide the life breath of Bharateeya Dharma and will be embodiments of culture, education, compassion, love, and selflessness.

This institution will not look for financial or any other type of help from the people of Anantapur. The institute is happy when the teachers, students, their families, parents, and the neighbours are happy. This College will standout as an ideal not only in Anantapur, but also for all those who have special interest in women’s education. It is My Will that this College grows into a women’s university.

I wish that all the people eschew enmity, anger, pride and other evils and develop congenial relations based on the foundations of unity and love, on a permanent basis. Our minds must be fixed on the universal soul only.

Love will fructify all deeds, on its own accord. I bless that this College evolves into a symbol of love, prestige and success. This will become a light of hope. This College will provide teaching to potential mothers who will foster noble people endowed with devotion and faith. I conclude My discourse with the hope and blessing that everyone in this College will totally rely on Dharma and through Dharma will obtain peace and happiness.
